Victoire, La
A daily newspaper published by Gustave Hervé in Paris from early 1916 in place of La Guerre Soclale which had come out under his editorship since 1906. During the First World War it pursued an openly social-chauvinist, pro-war policy. With the Russian white-guard émigré V. Burtsev at the head of its Russian section, the newspaper was hostile towards Soviet Russia. By and large its policy was one of defense of French bourgeois national interests.
